Pediatric occupational therapist. Busy mom of three. And a firm believer that the most meaningful therapy happens in the middle of everyday life.
I’m Chelsey Peters, MA, OTR/L, and the founder of simPLAYfied Occupational Therapy. I’ve been a pediatric occupational therapist for more than 15 years, working with children and families in outpatient and early intervention settings.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children with a wide range of needs and diagnoses, including sensory processing disorder, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, feeding difficulties, motor challenges, visual perceptual deficits, and emotional regulation difficulties.
I have learned a lot throughout my time as an occupational therapist and a mom...

There isn't always time for the perfect Pinterest activity, the carefully planned strategy, or the beautifully executed routine. Families need support that works in the middle of real life—the rushed mornings, the bedtime struggles, the sibling chaos, the car rides, the meals, the after school schedules, the play, and all the ordinary moments in between.
That's where I believe the most meaningful change happens.

You know their personality, their strengths, what makes them light up, and what makes their hardest moments even harder.
My role is to bring my occupational therapy knowledge and experience to the table, help you connect the dots, and give you a deeper understanding of how your child may be experiencing the world.
Together, we can figure out what your child is communicating, what may be getting in the way of participation, and what changes or strategies might make everyday life easier.

Children learn best when they are engaged, motivated, connected, and having fun—through PLAY
That's why I use a child-directed approach to find play-based strategies for growth. When children are interested and engaged, learning becomes more powerful, accessible, and a whole lot more fun.

Challenging behavior is often a signal that something isn't working for a child—not simply a sign that a child refuses to cooperate.
When a child is struggling with a transition, melting down at bedtime, refusing a food, or having difficulty participating at school, it's important to find what they are trying to communicate. This allows us to help them develop the skills they need so they CAN do all the things they want and need to do each day.

To equip parents with knowledge, confidence and tools to support their child's development through everyday routines and play. With personalized consultation, coaching and ongoing support, we simplify therapeutic strategies so they are practical, achievable and sustainable—helping families make everyday moments count.
